The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) nabbed three alleged drug traffickers, Praveen Kumar 36, Saroj Goswami of Bihar and Abdulgani, an auto driver, with 974 gm of methamphetamine as they alighted from the Howrah-Gandhidham Express at Ahmedabad railway station.  The drug is estimated to be worth over Rs 1 crore.

NCB officials said Praveen Kumar had got the synthetic drug from a north-eastern state. He reached Howrah and boarded the Gandhidham train.
"We had a tip off and followed Kumar on the train from Vadodara. We waited for him to alight from the train as we wanted to catch the receivers of the drug also.

"As he came out of the railway station, he was received by Saroj Goswami and Abdulgani. As soon as Goswami and Kumar sat in the auto owned by Abdulgani, we

caught them," said a senior NCB official.

NCB officials claimed that with the seizure they have busted a major inter-state network involved in trafficking of methamphetamine in Gujarat.

We had produced the three accused in the court. The court had handed them over to us on a day's custodial remand", a senior NCB official said. During investigation, names of elements involved in the drug syndicate, who belong to one north eastern state, came to light, the official said.
