Hyderabad: Thieves broke into a house at Bhavani Colony in Rajendranagar and decamped with 11 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 1.7 lakh on Monday night.

The incident occurred when the house owner Vasantha (60), a retired Agriculture Department employee, locked the house and went to her relative’s house



to attend a function. Police said the thieves opened the almirah with the keys, which was kept on a nearby table and decamped with the valuables. 

The Rajendranagar police are investigating. Footage from surveillance cameras is being examined.
