Fri 11 Sep 2015, 10:46:02

Hyderabad: In a gruesome incident, a 26-year old constable belonging to Special Police Force (SPF) of Telangana had strangulated his wife to death and later burnt her corpse in Anantagiri forests near Vikarabad in Rangareddy district. Although, the incident happened on August 6, the case came to light on Thursday. The constable K Ramakrishna apparently misguided the police by stating that his wife Supriya (19) had eloped with another person.

The police, who initially filed a case of missing, cracked down the mystery behind her disappearance after the accused forced them to close the case by repeatedly providing evidences stating that his wife had cheated on him and eloped with her paramour. According to the police, Ramakrishna from Nizamabad married Supriyain August 2014 and shifted to an apartment at Street No. 5, Himayatnagar as he was posted in Hyderabad.

On August 14 this year, he, along with his brother-in-law lodged a complaint with Narayanaguda police stating that his wife had been missing since August 6. He visited the police station several times later to enquire about status of the case. Later, Ramakrishna started producing evidences to the police stating that his wife had eloped with one Arun. He told the police that he had received an SMS from his wife’s mobile which said: “I am with Arun.

I won’t come again to stay with you.” He went on providing similar text messages and call data log to the police, stating that he was no more

interested in getting his wife back. He requested the police to close the case. When police were about to oblige his request by believing the evidences shown by him, developed suspicion over Ramakrishna’s behaviour four days back, when he started bringing pressure on them to close the case.

“We got a doubt and asked Ramakrishna to bring his wife to close the case as her call data record and cell tower location indicated that she was at Nizamabad town. But he failed to bring her,” the Narayangudapolice said. As the police interrogated with their own style, the accused confessed that he had killed her last month and disposed of the body in Anantagiri forests with the help of his friend.

The police said that the accused had suspected the fidelity of Supriya, as she was allegedly moving closely with another person who used to frequent her house. Supriya’s brother, who was staying with her studying Intermediate, also used to quarrel with her by expressing his doubts. On August 6, Ramakrishna killed his wife by strangling her with a towel. Later, he shifted the body to forest areal located near Vikarabad with the help of his friend Pradeep.

They burnt the corpse and later buried the remains in the forest, about two kilometers from the highway. On Thursday, Narayanaguda police along with revenue personnel exhumed the body from the Vikarabad forests and shifted it to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. Ramakrishna was arrested in the evening.
