Surgeon’s absence claims lives of mother & unborn baby

One Mamatha from Mandapuram village in Ranga Reddy district was admitted to the hospital



with labour pains. The nurses treated Mamatha in the absence of duty doctors. But Mamatha’s condition deteriorated with the negligent attitude of the hospital as she needed immediate surgical operation. Due to delay in operation, the fetus died in the stomach and later the mother too died within minutes. The parents of Mamatha bemoaned that their daughter would have been alive if surgical operation was done. The police filed a case and taken up inquiry.
