Depressed over failing in Inter supplementary exam, a 19-year-old intermediate student hanged himself at his residence in Balanagar on Sunday. Deepak Jahangir, a resident of AP housing colony failed in a subject inter second-year exam after he saw the results released on Sunday. Discovering that he failed in a subject, Deepak went to the bathroom around 3 pm and then hanged himself to a ceiling rod inside, it is learned. The parents who were not aware of the results grew suspicious after Deepak did not open the bathroom door. They broke the door and brought him out. The police who were informed shifted the boy to Gandhi Hospital. A case of suicide was registered.
