Gutka worth Rs.5 lakh seized at Kothapet

A gutka manufacturer was arrested by Chandrayangutta police on Wednesday and gutka worth Rs.5 lakh was seized.

Chandrayangutta police said that Md Muneeruddin Ruman, a resident of Santosh Nagar, completed his engineering but was manufacturing gutka at Kothapet in Balapur limits. The accused was in possession of two bags of gutka when



police nabbed him.

He hired 4-5 labourers who use to manufacture gutka. He used to get raw material from Kanpur and export the gutka to Chennai and Andhra Pradesh. He was earning Rs.2 lakh per month,” deputy commissioner (South Zone) V Satyanarayana said. However, Muneeruddin claimed that he was innocent.
