Hyderabad: Six persons masquerading as officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) robbed a numerologist of 30 tolas of gold and other valuables from a house at S R Nagar.

Y Ajay Kumar, Detective Inspector, said, on Monday night, six unidentified persons went to the house of Jagadeesh Babu, a numerologist, located at Maitrivanam in Ameerpet. When two women working for Babu opened the door, the strangers introduced themselves as CBI officials and entered the house.

“The gang collected 30 tolas of



gold ornaments and other gadgets including mobile phones from the house. Later, they went to his office located on the upper floors of the same building and took away 11 laptops too,” said the Inspector.

The gang allegedly demanded Rs 50 lakh towards ‘settlement’ to leave him scot-free saying that the CBI had received a complaint against him. However they finally settled for Rs 4 lakh and asked him to pay the money and collect the ‘seized’ equipment and gold ornaments. A case was filed.
