Hyderabad: Ali Baig, the security guard who was injured in a firing in the broad daylight armed robbery bid at an ATM centre in Kukatpally succumbed to his injuries. He was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Ch.Srinivas, the staff who was at the ATM to dispense cash in the machine is being treated. His condition is said to be stable.

Two unidentified youngsters, suspected to be regular offenders and involved in similar cases, came on a bike and barged into the ATM centre around 12.30 pm when the staff had come to dispense cash in the cash



chest.

Officials said the duo brandished a pistol and demanded the cash bag, but as the staff refused, they opened fire on Ali Baig, who suffered injuries on his stomach and Srinivas, who suffered an injury on his leg.

The robbers fled the spot with Rs 5 lakh on the bike. Local residents who noticed the incident, stayed still as the robbers were armed.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar visited the spot and has formed three special teams to identify and nab the suspects.
