Hyderabad: Hyderabad witnessed one of its most bloodthirsty days in history, witnessing six brutal murders in four separate incidents within 24 hours.

Among the first incidents to be reported on Wednesday was the double murder at the Durganagar crossroads in Mailardevpally, wherein a roadside blanket seller and his friend, identified as Prakash, were murdered.

The police said that the assailant smashed the heads of the victims with a granite slab, killing them on the spot. While the police have taken two persons into custody, they suspect that the murderer may not have had a motive and could have been mentally unstable.

Mylardevpally police collected blood samples and CCTV footage from adjoining areas, before registering a case in the matter. The police also deployed a Clues team at the spot to collect forensic evidence.

In the second incident, a 30-year-old construction worker was murdered by his wife’s paramour and the paramour’s friend in Kudalwadi of Azampura on Wednesday afternoon.

Identifying the main accused as Mohammed Shoeb and his aide as Akram, police said that the wife of the victim, Yousuf, was in an extramarital relationship with Shoeb for the past five months.

Yousuf, upon finding out about their relationship, threatened Shoeb, following which Shoeb and Akram decided to murder Yousuf. The police said that they made the plan two days ago and brutally stabbed Yousuf, who died due to excessive bleeding.

The duo fled the spot, the police said, adding that they were later taken into custody by the Chaderghat police. The southeast zone DCP said a Clues team was deployed to collect forensic evidence.

In the third incident, a man strangled his wife to death over a dispute

about adopting a child.

The police said that a couple from Bihar, Bina and Laxman, were married 29 years ago but had no kids, due to which they frequently fought. In one such fight on Wednesday, Bina insisted on adopting a child, to which Laxman objected, leading to a heated argument between the husband and wife.

Laxman, in a fit of rage, strangled Bina with a cable wire at their Bowenpally residence, the police said. Bowenpally police registered a case of murder against Laxman and remanded him to judicial custody.

In the fourth incident, two transgenders were intercepted when they were travelling on a bike at Daibagh Road in Tappachabutra and murdered by one of the transgender person’s jilted lover, in the early hours of Wednesday.

The police identified the accused as Syed Inayat and Mohammed Inayath, who waylaid the victims, smashed their heads with boulders and surrendered to the police later in the day.

The police said that Syed Inayat and one of the victims, Syed Yousuf alias Dolly, 26, were in a relationship for the past six months. However, Inayat decided to murder Dolly after she refused to marry him, the police said.

The other victim was identified as Mohammed Riyaz alias Sofia, 27.
DCP Kiran Khare said the murder was premeditated and took place at 1.20 am. After the accused smashed in their heads, one of them dropped a dagger at the spot before fleeing.

The victims, residents of Hari Dargah in Jirrah, were returning home after meeting a friend.

Tappachabutra police registered a case of murder against the accused, seized the murder weapons and recovered their blood-stained clothes from their possession.
