A man in Bihar's Gopalganj district was allegedly beheaded by the family of his girlfriend as they reportedly objected to their relationship. The police have arrested three accused in the case.

The young man, Prem Kumar, was a resident of Rupchhap village of Gopalganj and was in a relationship with Anshu Kumari, a girl from nearby Sipayakhas village, for the last five years.

Reportedly, the girl's family was not agreeable to the relationship.

On August 3, Prem Kumar had gone to meet his girlfriend at her village, but then disappeared from there.

When Prem did not return to his house, his elder brother, Bullet Yadav, lodged a report in the police station about the possibility of kidnapping and killing.  Four people were made accused in the complaint.

The police immediately rushed into action and took the help of dog squad and forensic team to locate the man. The



police reportedly recovered the body from the Gandak river on Sunday.


Following this, three people were arrested and sent to jail. Fearing arrest, Prem Kumar's girlfriend and two other accused named in the FIR absconded.

According to Bulled Yadav, Prem had gone to meet his girlfriend in the nearby village. He alleged that the family members of the girl beheaded Prem and then threw the body in the river.

According to Gopalganj SP Naresh Paswan , on the night of August 3, a boy named Prem Kumar of Rupchhap village had gone to meet his girlfriend Anshu Kumari. The girlfriend's family members made him disappear after he reached there.

Naresh Paswan added that a case was registered at the Vishambharpur police station in this regard and the man's body was found in the river on Sunday.

Three people have been arrested and sent to jail in connection with the case.
