Chain snatcher held in Hyderabad

 Hyderabad: The Vanasthalipuram police apprehended a professional snatcher Challagali Muralikrishna Raju, 24, of Vaidehinagar on Wednesday. During interrogation, the accused confessed to have committed 12 snatchings single-handedly since November last year.

The accused had graduated in B.Sc in 2012 and worked in a car showroom near the Panama Godowns for sometime but left his



job due to his health ailments. It was then that he became addicted to alcohol and smoking. To overcome financial difficulties, he planned to commit property offences.

He came to know about chain snatching through media reports. He decided to try it out to earn easy money. Based on Raju’s confession, the police recovered 25 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh.
