Auto driver kills woman to rob of her jewellery in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Vanasthalipuram police on Wednesday arrested B Satish (28), an autorickshaw driver on charges of murdering his neighbour B Maisamma (60).

Satish, a resident of Saheb Nagar in Vanasthalipuram and a native of Kuntloor in Abdullapurmet, allegedly murdered Maisamma to rob of her jewellery and buy a new auto, police said.

Maisamma used to regularly hire Satish’s auto, and he noticed that she had gold and silver ornaments worth nearly Rs 3 lakh, they said.

On Sunday, Maisamma hired Satish’s auto to attend a death ceremony at Vijayapuri Colony in



Vanasthalipuram. Around 12 noon, Satish consumed toddy and got some for Maisamma as well. She got drunk and got into the auto in a semi-conscious state, police said, adding that Satish then took her to an isolated place at Ramdaspally village in Ibrahimpatnam and killed her.

He removed her gold jewellery and as he could not remove her silver anklets, Satish cut off both her legs. To avoid her from being identified, he poured diesel on the body and burnt it.

Satish was taken into custody based on suspicion and during interrogation, admitted to the murder.
