866 gm gold seized at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Detectives of Air Intelligence Unit of customs department arrested a passenger at RGI Airport on Wednesday for smuggling in 866 gm of gold from Dubai worth about `25.33 lakh.

The detectives checked the baggage of a flier, who arrived from Dubai via



Muscat by an Oman Air flight on Wednesday morning. Instead of taking a direct flight from Du bai, the smuggler went to Muscat and then to Hyderabad.

“He concealed silver-coated gold strips in the lining of the bag,“ an official said.
