Hyderabad: The Habibnagar police booked a case against 24-year-old Syed Omar for deceiving a woman under the pretext of marriage. Police said Omar and the victim knew each other in college and were in a relationship. Omar had promised to marry her.

Two months ago, he took her along with him on a work-related visit out of town, where he

sexually assaulted her. When she became pregnant, Omar refused to marry her and said his mother did not approve of their marriage, said Habibnagar inspector T. Ram Babu.

The victim filed a complaint with the police on Saturday following which the police arrested Omar and secured his remand.
