Customs officers of the Air Intelligence Unit nabbed a man who was carrying 1,233 grams of 24K gold worth  Rs 36,86,60 on Saturday night. The passenger, Gosala Syam Babu, had arrived from Dubai on Indigo airlines and is claiming to have been duped by some people in Dubai and made to carry the gold.

The

operator from Dubai had sent the gold bars concealed in a voltage converter, through a passenger who was deceived by an agent who promised employment in Dubai.

The voltage converter, and some personal articles were kept in a carton and it was handed over to the man without revealing anything. The passenger was requested to deliver the carton at Hyderabad to a person who would be coming to receive him outside the international arrivals terminal, officials at the Air Intelligence Unit said.
