Two former employees of a weight loss clinic were arrested by the cybercrime cell for allegedly stealing clients' data and then selling the same diet and treatment plans to the clinic's clients at a lower price.

The accused were identified as Priyanka Pant and Divya Gohil. According to the cybercrime cell, the two worked in Dr Detox Clinic situated in Vastrapur as clinic manager and client manager, respectively. They had access to the clients' health and fitness data and the packages and treatment plan which they were given.

Pant and Gohil later left their jobs and took the client data with them. They then contacted the same clients and offered them the same weight management plan and at a reduced price. Clients were offered the clinic's plans costing Rs 10,000-12,000 for as low as Rs 6,000. The clinic got to know about the fraud after clients approached it to inform it that they were getting messages about the same plan at a reduced rate. The clinic is said to have incurred a loss of Rs 12 lakh due to the fraud.

ACP cybercrime J M Yadav said Pant was the clinic manager and had access to the company's data. Investigation in the case is on.
