Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday held separate meetings with CEO of Micron Technology Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of General Electric and General Electric Aerospace H. Lawrence Culp Jr. and CEO of Applied Materials Gary E. Dickerson in Washington DC. During his interaction with Mr Mehrotra, Mr Modi invited Micron Technology’s participation in semiconductor manufacturing in India. Mr Mehrotra said, he had an excellent meeting with Mr Modi. 

The CEO of Micron Technology said, he is very impressed with the vision that the Prime Minister has for India and the advances that India is making. He said, they discussed a wide range of topics and he is looking forward to greater opportunities in



India.

During the interaction with Lawrence Culp Jr, Mr Modi appreciated GE for its long-term commitment of manufacturing in India and called for GE’s greater technology collaborations in India. He invited GE to play a bigger role in India’s aviation and renewable energy sector. 

Interacting with Mr Dickerson, the Prime Minister invited Applied Materials for contributing in strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem and development of process technology and advanced packaging capabilities in India. The talks also covered potential of collaboration of Applied Materials with academic institutions in India to create skilled workforce.
