Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that various steps like leveraging digital identifications such as Aadhar, expanding access networks and digitizing financial benefit transfers, taken by the Government have led to tremendous progress towards achievement of the universal financial inclusion goal. 
Mr Jaitely was delivering the keynote address at the Annual Meeting Flagship event organized by the World Bank in Washington DC on the issue of 'Financial Inclusion and De-risking'.Earlier, the Finance Minister along with Secretary Department of Economic Affairs participated



in the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings Plenary.
On the sidelines of Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Mr Jaitley also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Sri Lanka, China, and Iran. The discussions mainly focused on the areas of mutual co-operation and commonality of positions in various multilateral fora.
The Finance Minister is currently on visit to the United States to attend the Annual Meetings of the IMF, World Bank and other associated meetings. He is accompanied by RBI Governor Dr. Urijit Patel and others.
