New Delhi: The government yesterday said that India has made an IT export worth 479 billion US dollar in the past three years. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar, in a written reply, informed the Lok Sabha that IT export worth 178 billion US dollar was made by the country in the last financial year.

He said, the government is focussed



on the growth of the sector and is taking several measures in this regard. The Minister said the Software Technology Parks of India (STP) scheme is being implemented and is completely an export-oriented scheme. Mr. Chandrasekhar said besides the STP scheme, Special Economic Zones (SEZs) have been created with an aim for promotion of export of goods and services.
