Honda Motor is recalling
772,000 additional Honda and Acura vehicles in the US for defective front
passenger seat air bag inflators. The defective air bag inflators were made by
Japanese supplier, Takata Corporation.
The vehicles, announced in a recall yesterday, by Honda in
the US, are
part of an expanded recall of nearly 1.3 million vehicles, including some
recalled earlier.
Takata is at the center of a massive recall of inflators that can explode
in a crash, injuring people by sending metal shrapnel into the passenger
compartments.
