Govt invites applications for manufacturing of Electric Passenger Cars

The Government has launched a portal to invite applications from global Electric vehicle giants under the Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Electric Passenger Cars in India. The application portal will be open for applicants till 21st October of this year. 

During the launch of the portal in New Delhi today, Union Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy said this initiative marks a defining moment in the country’s journey



towards clean, self-reliant, and future-ready mobility. He said the launch of the portal opens new avenues for global electric vehicle manufacturers to invest in the country’s rapidly evolving automotive landscape. He also stressed that the scheme not only supports national commitment to achieving net zero emission by 2070, but also reinforces the country’s resolve to build a sustainable, innovation-driven economy.
