Washington: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that an official level discussion on Indo-Pacific Economic Framework will be held in India next month, in February. 

He said, India and US have also finalised dates for the next Commercial Dialogue and the CEO Forum meeting to be held in India in March this year.

While addressing the media in Washington DC, Mr. Goyal said, US companies are looking for huge capital investment as they are looking at India as a trusted partner to diversify geographies. 

He said, India is looking at much bigger ambitions in terms of



its trade with the US and it is focusing on greater market access and ease of doing business between the two sides. 

Mr. Goyal said, at the Trade Policy Forum, India discussed deeper engagement with the US on semiconductor manufacturing and many US companies are looking at the opportunities available in the defence manufacturing sector in India. 

Mr. Goyal met with US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. During the meeting, both sides covered several aspects like India's efforts to become more self-sufficient in areas like semiconductors and defense production.
