New Delhi: Coal Ministry has received 35 bids for 7th round of commercial coal mine auctions. The 7th round of auctions was launched on 29th March this year for 103 coal mines. Yesterday was the last date for submission of a bid. The Ministry said, a total of 35 offline bids have been received for 18 coal mines, where two or more bids have been received for seven mines. The online bids received as part of the auction process will be opened in New Delhi



today.
 
The Coal Ministry has successfully auctioned 87 mines in less than three years. These mines are estimated to generate revenue of around 33 thousand 200 crore rupees and provide employment to about three lakh people. The first-ever tranche of Commercial Coal Mine Auctions was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2020 with a vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
