Coal-based power generation registers growth of 7.58 per cent

New Delhi: Country's coal production increased by two percent to 79.54 million tonnes from 77.99 metric tonnes during last month as compared to February 2020. 

The Coal Ministry said, coal based power generation has registered a growth of 7.58 per cent in the month of February in comparison to corresponding



period of 2020.

The overall power generation during last month has been 5.49 per cent higher than the power generated in February 2020. Coal dispatch increased by 7.48 per cent to 71.27 metric tonnes from 66.31 metric tonnes during February this year as compared to February 2020.
