Auction for 5G spectrum likely in April-May 2022: Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi: The Union Government expects to auction 5G spectrum by April or May next year, the Communications, IT and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday. Speaking at the Times Now Summit-2021, the Minister said, currently the telecom regulator is working on it and once they send their recommendations, the auctions will begin.

The Minister



added that the Department of Telecommunications expects the telecom regulator to send its recommendations by February end or beginning of March next year.

The Minister also said, the full potential of the reforms, which have been announced and the next wave of reforms, will be realised in the next two to three years.
