AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday charged the Vasundhara Rajeled BJP government in Rajasthan of encouraging and supporting cow vigilantes. He said it was clear that the Rajasthan police were protecting cow vigilantes.

In his reaction to the lynching of 28-year-old Akbar Khan near Lalwandi area of Alwar in Rajasthan on July 21, Asaduddin Owaisi told reporters in New Delhi that the behaviour of the Rajasthan police is supporting cow vigilantes at the cost of a human life had not come as a surprise to him.

“The Rajasthan police did the same in Pehlu Khan murder case,” he said.

Asaduddin Owaisi explained that when

50-year-old Pehlu Khan was lynched in Rajasthan last year, the police allowed the accused to go scotfree. “Despite Pehlu Khan, in his dying declaration, having given the names of six people who attacked him, the accused were allowed to go scotfree,” he said.

“The King’s army who butcher Muslims and Dalits,” the MIM MP commented on Twitter reacting to a report which said those who indulged in Akbar’s lynching had claimed that they were local MLA’s men. The ‘King’ that the Hyderabad MP was referring to is obviously Prime Minister Narendra Modi who he has repeatedly accused of being responsible for the lynching incidents in the country..
