Hyderabad: Biryani wars are back as AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has taken a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah in a speech in Hyderabad. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief targeted the BJP president for questioning the aptness of the Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao sending biryani to Muslims in the state.

While addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area on Tuesday (November 27), Owaisi said he didn’t know that Amit Shah likes Biryani and added that he will ask KCR to send some "Kalyani Biryani" (colloquial term for beef biryani) to Shah as well.

“Amit Shah says KCR sends biryani to Muslims. I didn't know he (Amit Shah) also likes biryani. If he is jealous that Owaisi was fed biryani and not Amit Shah, then we will send him Kalyani biryani (colloquial - beef biryani). We can send him a parcel. If

someone else is eating why is your stomach aching? You can eat too” he said.

'Agar koi biryani kha raha hai, toh tumharey pet mein kyu dard ho raha hai? Nahi pata tha Amit Shah ko biryani itni pasand hai. Mai KCR ko phone karke bolta hu unhey kam se kam Kalyani biryani toh bhej de.'

Owaisi even took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the latter went to Pakistan to attend then Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif’s daughter’s wedding, who knows what he was fed there.

“Narendra Modi had met his counterpart in Pakistan when there was a wedding. You went there without an invitation. You held hands. You don't know what he fed you,” he said.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president KCR had earlier dubbed AIMIM as a “friendly” party. AIMIM, however, ruled out any alliance with the latter. AIMIM has seven sitting MLAs in the state.
