All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said BRS should not take AIMIM’s friendly ties for granted and not compel them to take a stand against the ruling party in Telangana as it is the pink party which has much to lose than the Majlis party.

“We are demanding Muslim Bandhu to be given to one per cent BPL Muslim families. Listen to what we are trying to say. Complete works and develop Muslim areas on par with areas predominantly inhabited by other communities. If we (AIMIM) decide to commit political suicide, the loss will be heavy for the party which depends on it for minority vote bank,” he said.

He also challenged BJP state president Bandi Sanjay to go and demolish the alleged “gumbad structure” of the new secretariat if he had courage. “BJP wants to spread hatred politics in Telangana and the incumbent government should deal with it with an iron hand. Nip it in the bud. It is learnt that Union home minister Amit Shah has been gifted with a bungalow near Shamshabad airport and he will stay there for a couple of days in a month.

The incumbent government should keep an eye and not depend on AIMIM alone to take BJP head on,” he said, addressing a public meeting in Sadashivpet.

Display friendship in public or face AIMIM, says Asaduddin Owaisi.

This is the second public meeting of Owaisi in Telangana after the one he addressed in Adilabad on

Sunday, which he termed as beginning of AIMIM’s preparations for the assembly and Lok Sabha elections. “I will go to places in Telangana and hold meetings, will consult people, elders and others to take a call on how many seats to contest,” he said.

On secular parties, including BRS, preferring to have AIMIM support to get Muslim votes but not wanting to be seen on stage out of fear of losing Hindu vote bank, Owaisi told them to either display their friendship in public or face AIMIM.

He asked Amit Shah, Bandi Sanjay and other leaders to stop accusing Owaisi for everything and pointing a finger at the Old City (paatha basthi) and telling the people that BRS poll symbol car’s steering was in the hands of Owaisi.

Listing out vacancies reserved for SCs, STs and OBCs in central government departments and financial institutions, Owaisi called upon these communities to realise how BJP ‘misled them with their hatred politics’ and got their votes. “It is PM Modi and Amit Shah who did not fill up your vacancies. I have not stopped them from giving you jobs. Don’t become blind that you fail to see BJP’s game plan of hatred politics,” he said.

He also attacked Congress, stating TPCC chief Revanth Reddy had announced to construct 100 Ram temples if Congress is voted to power. “On the other hand, BJP shows me and AIMIM as a threat to Hindus and that I am steering BRS car,” he quipped.
