All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi won the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat for the fourth consecutive term on May 23. 

Owaisi, who had been winning the seat since 2004, defeated J Bhagavanth Rao of BJP by over 2.82 lakh votes. 

Asaduddin Owaisi got 5,17,239 votes with 58.95 percent of votes while BJP candidate Dr.Bhagavanth Rao got 2,35,056 votes with 26.8 percent of votes. 

Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency is the stronghold of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. The constituency is represented by the Owaisi family since 1984. 

In the 2014, Lok Sabha election, Asaduddin Owaisi won the Hyderabad seat for the third consecutive term by defeating Bhagavanth Rao of the BJP by more than two lakh votes.
