AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi hit out at JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar and said the latter would be the Chief Minister of Bihar only in name and the governance will be carried out as per the wishes of the RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Owaisi's remark came after Nitish Kumar resigned as the Bihar Chief Minister on Sunday and staked claim to form an NDA government in the state with the BJP's letter of support.

"Nitish Kumar will be the Bihar Chief Minister just in name, the governance in Bihar will be controlled by the RSS and Narendra Modi," said the AIMIM chief.

He added that Nitish Kumar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav - who was serving as Nitish Kumar's deputy till a few days back, and PM Modi should apologise to the people of Bihar. "All three have betrayed the people of Bihar, especially Nitish Kumar," he added.

"Till yesterday, Nitish Kumar used to abuse me by saying 'Owaisi is BJP's B team'. Now he has no shame in taking the place where he accused me of being. Saying the term

political opportunism would be an understatement, Nitish Kumar has broken all records," said Asaduddin Owaisi.

He added that he has always said Nitish Kumar would reunite with the BJP but no one believed him.

"I want to ask Tejaswi Yadav how it feels? He took away four of our MLAs. Does he feel the same pain now? He has been played the same way he played us," said Owaisi. He added that Yadav and his family "sidelined" the people of Bihar and their focus was on having someone from amongst them to be the Chief Minister.

"The people of Bihar have been betrayed. There is no development in Bihar. Bureaucracy is on the rise in the state," said Owaisi.

He also slammed PM Modi and said when Nitish Kumar had made objectionable remarks against women, the Prime Minister had "promised the women of the country that he would save them from people like them (Kumar)".

"Now the Prime Minister is having tea with Nitish Kumar," added Owaisi.
