AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded that the Central Government take an all-party delegation of MPs to the contentious borders in Arunachal Pradesh, besides a debate on the issues on the border with China during the forthcoming winter session of the Parliament. The idea behind insisting on an all-party delegation of MPs visit to the contentious border areas was it would ensure in reasserting our sovereignty, he said.

“The Central Government was maintaining a ‘deliberate silence’ on the issue,” slammed Asaduddin Owaisi while addressing media persons here on Monday. In the past, an all-party delegation was taken to Kashmir. The current Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior BJP leaders were part of the delegation, he informed.

The reason for demanding a debate on the border affairs with China was there were news reports and

photographs about Chinese army invading into Indian Territory, he said. On the contrary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had categorically informed the people that Chinese army had not entered Indian Territory. These things have to be checked, said the AIMIM Chief.

“If the Central Government is not keen on holding a debate on the issue citing national security, it can convene a secret sitting without permitting media. There is a provision for this in the Lok Sabha rules,” said Asaduddin Owaisi.

On State BJP leaders’ claims over the party gaining ground in Telangana, the Hyderabad MP said the saffron party’s victory in Huzurabad should not be magnified as it would not make any difference. “One should bear in mind the same BJP party had lost deposit in Nagarjunasagar by polls in the past,” said Asaduddin Owaisi.
