Residents of Bachupally Double Bedroom Colony in Qutbullapur are facing severe difficulties due to the lack of basic amenities. People from different faiths have expressed concern over the absence of places of worship in the colony. There is no mosque for Muslims to offer prayers, while facilities for a temple and church are also unavailable for Hindu and Christian residents.
According to locals, more than two years have been passed since the colony was established, but no concrete steps have been taken by the authorities to provide space for places of worship. Residents say they have repeatedly submitted representations to officials, yet their demands remain unaddressed.
In response to the issue, AIMIM Qutbullapur President Mohammed Muneeruddin, Mohammed Akbar Khan, and Sri Sai Nagar President Abdul Ateeq, along with Bachupally Double Bedroom Colony President Mohammed Mujahid, visited the area and interacted with residents. They reviewed the problems being faced by the public and urged the government and concerned officials to resolve them immediately, including allocating land for places of worship.
Residents
also highlighted the presence of a large dumping yard near the colony, where garbage from surrounding areas is being dumped. They alleged that waste is sometimes left on the roads, creating inconvenience for commuters and leading to several accidents. Locals claim that a number of people have been injured due to the scattered garbage, and there have also been reports of a fatality.
The colony is further affected by the lack of streetlights, causing difficulties for residents during nighttime. Due to the absence of places of worship, people are forced to travel more than a kilometer to perform their religious activities. Local Muslims said they faced particular hardships during the month of Ramadan.
Residents have appealed to the government to allocate land for a mosque, temple, and church, and to relocate the dumping yard to another location. They say the dumping site is causing environmental pollution and contributing to the spread diseases, affecting children and elderl residents the most. The public has urged authorities to take immediate action to address these long-pending issues and provide relief to the community.
