External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that her visit to Nepal is to meet friends from all political parties and strengthen India-Nepal friendship. 

Talking to media persons at Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu last evening, Mrs Swaraj said that Indo Nepal relation is of such a nature that there is no need to have an excuse to visit each other. 

External Affairs Minister met CPN (UML) Chairman K.P.Sharma Oli and congratulated him for his party's victory in recent historic elections. 

Both the leaders held a



wide-ranging discussion on ways to take forward special relationship between India and Nepal. In a tweet, Mr Oli said that issues of mutual interest and cordial bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting. 

Mrs Swaraj also attended a dinner hosted by Mr Oli. Later she met senior leaders of Rashtriya Janta Party Nepal.Mrs Swaraj will hold discussions with CPN (Maoist Center) chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda over breakfast today. She will also meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and call on President Vidya Devi Bhandari before returning to New Delhi.
