West Bengal CID has frozen bank accounts of top Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM)leaders, including its president Bimal Gurung. The agency alleged that the funds were being misused. A senior CID officer confirmed that the accounts of GJM general secretary Roshan Giri and assistant general secretary Binay Tamang have also been frozen. He said, all these three accounts were in a private bank in Darjeeling and belonged to the GJM leaders. The officer said, around 26 lakh rupees was seized from the three accounts.

and other hill parties held a demonstration outside the district magistrate's office demanding restoration of Internet services in the hills. Internet services have been suspended for the last 32 days. There were no incidents of violence or arson since Wednesday night as the indefinite shutdown in the hills entered its 37th day today. Police and security forces patrolled the streets and kept a tight vigil at every entry and exit points. All shops, restaurants, hotels, schools and colleges remained closed except pharmacies.
