Uttar Pradesh government has signed 900 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with different industrial groups for investment in the state ahead of a two day UP investment summit beginning in Lucknow tomorrow. 

The amount of investment involved in 900 MoUs is likely to be known after the summit. The sectors for which MoUs have been signed are agriculture, food processing, dairy industry, tourism, information technology and MSME. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event, while President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest on a concluding day. As many as 16 Union Ministers will participate in the two-day event.

Preparations are in full swing for the Mega Investor summit which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister on 21st February. More than 7000 national and



international investors have so far registered themselves for the UP investor’s summit. 

Industry Minister Satish Mahana said that more than 900 MOUs have signed so far and claimed that this is the highest number of MOU which is ever signed with private companies. Official sources told that worth of these MOUs would be more than 3 lakh crore rupees. 

Some of the focus areas where the government is inviting investments from domestic and foreign players are Civil Aviation, ITeS, Dairy, Electronics Manufacturing, Tourism, MSME, Renewable Energy, Films, Handloom and Textile, and Agro and Food Processing. 

To woo the investor’s state is organising UP investor’s summit on the grand level in which more than one dozen central ministers will also come.
