Three Canadian ministers to visit India

New Delhi  : Three ministers of the Government of Canada will undertake a visit to India between November 13 and 17.

 A High Commission of Canada release said that Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Navdeep Bains; Minister of International Trade Francois-Philippe Champagne and Minister of Transport Marc Garneau will lead a trade, technology and innovation mission to India next week. They will be accompanied by a delegation of nearly 200 Canadian business representatives.

While in New Delhi, the ministers will participate in the Canada-India Technology Summit, held at the Lalit Hotel on November 14-15. They will also meet several Indian Ministers and leaders of business and industry.

In the context of the



technology summit, there will be several significant business and innovation announcements involving top-tier Canadian companies.

In addition to Delhi, Minister Champagne will visit Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad while Minister Bains will visit Pune.

High Commissioner for Canada to India, Nadir Patel, said: "Canada-India bilateral relations are growing at a fast pace and India is a priority country for Canada. Canadian investment into India has increased by nearly $15 billion over the past three years, and the number of Canadian companies active in India stands at over 1000. The timing of this visit by three senior Canadian Ministers couldn't be better to further advance our business relationship and deepen Canada's engagement across India."
