Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend Ashara Mubaraka, the commemoration of martyrdom of Imam Hussain, organized by the Dawoodi Bohra community in Indore today.
 
Prime Minister will also meet the 53rd religious head of Dawoodi Bohra community Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. Dr Saifuddin is holding nine-day religious discourse at the Saifi Nagar mosque in the city, which began on Wednesday.
 
Mr Modi is also likely to address a gathering of the community members. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also address the event.
 
The Prime Minister will stay with Dr Sydena Mufaddal Saifuddin for 30 minutes for interaction. During stay, Prime Minister will also attend sermon to be delivered by supreme spiritual leader of Dawoodi Bohra community Dr Syedna in the city.
 
This is the



first time Prime Minister will meet Dr Syedna and attend the sermons. The PM’s last visit to Indore was on June 23 when he gave away cleanliness awards. This is also the first time Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is holding the sermons in Indore.
 
The city had witnessed his father, the late Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin’s sermons in 1986 and 2002 respectively. Lakhs of members of Dawoodi Bohra community from across the world are attending the sermons in Indore.
 
Meanwhile, the state administration is working overtime to ensure strict security for the visit. DIG Indore said a total of 4 thousand security personnel have been deployed in the city for the prime minister's visit and a strict vigil was being maintained. Apart from this, other modern security resources including drones are also being deployed.
