In Chhattisgarh, one Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Rajnandgaon district yesterday.

According to Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal, a joint team of ITBP, Special Task Force and District Reserve Group was on a search operation in the forest of Bakarkatta near Madhya



Pradesh border. Maoists ambushed the security personnel.

In the exchange of fire one Maoist was killed. The body of rebel and three weapons, including one pistol and two rifles, were recovered from the spot. Security forces also destroyed a camp of Maoists in the jungle.
