National Investigation Agency has arrested the accused Naorem Premkanta Singh. The accused was found involved in a case related to ambush on Army personnel at Chandel District of Manipur in June 2015, in which 18 army soldiers were killed. 

The accused was arrested in a joint operation by the agency and Manipur Police. A pistol and five live rounds have also been recovered from his possession. He had been absconding since



the ambush took place in Manipur in 2015. 

The special NIA court in Imphal had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant and has announced him a proclaimed offender. The agency said, the accused belongs to a banned terror organisation Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup and had participated in the ambush on Army personnel of 6th Dogra Battalion. The accused had carried a reward of two lakh rupees on his head.
