The Met department has warned of strong winds and rough seas along the coasts of West Bengal, Odisha, southern parts of the western coast and Lakshadweep today and advised fishermen not to venture out in the sea. 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in New Delhi yesterday said, the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha are likely to witness "strong



winds speed occasionally reaching 40­-50 kmph with moderate to rough sea conditions". 

The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), in its warning, has said, waves would be first experienced along the west coast of India and Lakshadweep by today morning.
