Maoists gun down BJP leader in Bijapur,Chhattisgarh

Maiosts shot dead a senior BJP leader, Jagadish Kondara, near the Bhupalapatnam police station in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

Jagadish suffered serious injuries after Maoists opened fire at him and fled. Villagers rushed him to a

hospital in Warangal but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Jagadish was a former district president. The reasons behind the attack is yet to be known, according to police.

Further investigation is on.
