Lahaul-Spiti and other parts of Himachal Pradesh experience light snowfall

In Himachal Pradesh, after sudden change in weather the higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu and Kinnaur experienced light snowfall. The minimum and maximum temperature has decreased by several degrees throughout in the state. 

The met department has predicted snowfall on higher hills while rain and thundershower in almost all parts of state till 19th November.The severe cold wave has affected normal life in higher areas of the



state. The temperature has fallen up to minus ten in several areas of tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti. 

Besides Brighu Lake near Rohtang pass, the Chandertal, Surajtal, Neelkanth and Alias lakes have been frozen due to severe cold wave conditions. The Rohtang pass experienced light fresh snowfall in the night. The district authorities have banned all tourist activities on tracking routes due to bad weather.
