A team of Election Commission officials headed by Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha held series of meetings with the state authorities and representatives of political parties in Bengaluru yesterday regarding upcoming assembly elections in the state. 

Chief Secretary Ratna Prabha, DG and IGP Neelamani Raju and Chief Electoral Officer Sanjeev Kumar were among those who attended the meeting yesterday. The team interacted with the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of districts via video conferencing to find out about the poll preparedness.

officials will continue to hold meetings with the state authorities today and meet the media persons in the afternoon.Electoral roll revision process has begun with enrollment drives being planned in all the districts. The final publication of electoral roll will be done by February 20th. 

As on November last year here are over 4 crore 90 lakh voters registered in the electoral roll. As the election machinery begins preparations for the 15th legislative Assembly election, Political parties have begun campaigns and started mobilising their cadres as a step to gear up for the Assembly elections in April-May.
