Budget session of J&K legislature begins today

The budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir legislature is beginning in Jammu today. The session will commence with Governor NN Vohra's address to a joint sitting of the legislature. The Budget for the financial year 2018-19 will be presented by State Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu on the 11th of this month.

Opposition parties,



including Congress, National Conference and CPI(M) are likely to raise the issues of the State government's decision to regularise 60,000 casual and daily wagers in various departments and ongoing strike by contractual employees, including of the National Health Mission, who are demanding regularization of their services.
