Army troops at Bhalukpong, Arunachal Pradesh today rescued about 200 civilians from a landslide site. The people were stranded for over 10 hours in their vehicles some 7 kilometres from Bhalukpong towards Sessa.  
The rescued group included nearly 70 women and about 50 children.

JCOs, 20 other ranks rushed to the spot to carry out the rescue operation.
They were able to take the stranded civilians out of the danger area at around 9 am today.
By 11 am all the people were evacuated to safety. They were given necessary medicines and food. Meanwhile, the Border Roads personnel are working towards clearing the roadways.
