6 killed in fire in Mumbai's Juhu locality

At least six persons were killed and 15 others were injured when a fire broke out at a building under construction at the posh Juhu locality in Mumbai.

The fire was caused because of a gas cylinder explosion at the Prarthana Building near the Kaifi Azmi Park off Green Acres at Juhu.According to Mumbai Fire Brigade and Mumbai Police, the bodies were charred beyond recognition and could not be identified so far.

Police and fire fighters believe that



the victims could be construction workers.

The fire broke out between 2200 to 2230 hrs and was extinguished past midnight.

The injured persons have been shifted to the RN Cooper Hospital, where they are getting treated for burn injuries.Some of the injured persons are said to be serious. 

The Mumbai Police has registered an Accident Death Report (ADR) and further investigations were in progress.
