US President Donald Trump has said, his historic summit with Kim Jong-un may not work out, even as he asserted that the North Korean leader was serious about denuclearisation. Mr Trump said this at the White House where he met with his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in.

The US President told reporters that there is a very substantial chance that the 12th of next month's meeting in Singapore won't work out, but that doesn't mean it won't work out

over a period of time. Mr Trump, however, said he will be extremely happy if the deal with North Korea works out.

Earlier, Pyongyang had threatened to cancel the meeting over a joint US-South Korea military exercise. The US had said, it was going ahead with the preparation. South Korea's National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong had also said, there were 99.9 per cent chances for the summit to happen.
