At least 61 people were killed in two separate attacks by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
An attack by suicide bombers and gunmen on police headquarters in Gardez, capital of the Paktia province, has killed 33 people, including the police chief.
Another 160 people were wounded in the attack. Officials said the death toll is expected to rise.
Five attackers were also killed.

A district center in Ghazni province was also targeted in an attack which saw an explosives-laden armored Humvee SUV being detonated near the provincial governor's office.
In the attack, at least 15 security personnel were killed and 12 wounded, while 13 civilians were killed and seven wounded.
The attacks highlight a Taliban resurgence which the Afghan security forces are struggling to contain.
