The Hyderabad Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has set up a round-the-clock camp at Necklace Road and deployed 31water board managers.

The decision to set up a camp follows a massive road cave-in last year after a decade-old sewer trunk main below the road got damaged. “The Ganesh immersion will be held on September 5 and thousands of idols will come to Necklace Road for immersion. Keeping in view this

event, the board has set up `watch and ward' camp,“ HMWS&SB officeron-special duty (OSD), M D Kabir told.

“We have deployed 31 managers from various sections of HMWS&SB to create awareness among people and commuters. They will alert people specifying the area where sink holes formed during last year's immersion,“ he said. The board had already put up traffic dividers few weeks ago.
