Chief secretary SK Joshi has urged all departments to be alert to avoid any human and property loss in the state. He said an app would be developed by the disaster management department which would inform public on weather conditions.

The chief secretary, who held a review meeting on the south-west monsoon preparedness on Thursday, said all departments including municipal, revenue, irrigation, Panchayat Raj, animal husbandry, power, health, railway and fire services along with police, military, air force, NDRF should work in



coordination by sharing information.

He asked the health department to be alert as seasonal diseases are expected and they should keep more than adequate stock of medicines and vaccines. He said the GHMC should focus on low lying areas and special teams should be pressed into service as and when required.

GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar, Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissioners VC Sajjanar and Mahesh Bhagat respectively were present.
